This tasting was originally scheduled for May 2020, and had to be postponed due to Coivid 19. Sadly Paul passed away last summer, but we have decided to hold the tasting in his memory.
Chateâuneuf-du-Pape is the finest wine area of the Southern Rhone. The top domaines produce complex wines improving with age while many other domaines concentrate on approachable deeply fruity young wines.
We will present a selection from different vintages and explain how a quality system is at work. Note the Parker marks of the mature wines run from 92 – 99.
We will taste:
2016 CNdP, Les Closiers (Ogier)
2013 CNdP, Vieux Télégraphe
2013 CNdP, Telegramme
2007 Château de Beaucastel
2007 Vieux Télégraphe
2004 Vieux Télégraphe
2004 Font de Michelle, Cuvée Etienne Gonnet
2003 Domaine de Pegon
2001 Clos des Papes
The tasting will be led by Chris Davenport-Jones, and will be accompanied by a selection of cold meats, bread and cheese.
