Is Dom Pérignon still ‘the best’?

Event Date:

Tuesday, January 30, 2024

Event Time:

7:00 pm

Event Location:

The Army and Navy Club (RAG)

In films and books, Dom Pérignon Champagne is represented as the height of luxury. The Dom Pérignon 2000 should be at a peak, still fresh, complex and alluring.  But how will it rate against Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut 1983, another premium Champagne?   And in the last few years, English sparkling wines have come on by leaps and bounds.   Can Dom Pérignon beat eight exciting, award-winning, but much less expensive English sparkling wines?  Our tasters will decide for themselves in this ‘Judgement of London’. The white wines are based on the usual Champagne grapes (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier) but the Rosé is a splendid novelty, made from Rondo and Pinot Gris.  Come and taste the ten wines for yourself, and make your own judgments.
