“For wines that can truly surprise and excite in the glass, Greece really is the place to look.” Decanter wine magazine, July 2024.
The latest generation of Greek winemakers have travelled and studied abroad, and returned to their family’s vineyards, to combine their Greek heritage with innovative approaches. They are rediscovering and reviving indigenous grape varieties from diverse terroirs, found nowhere else, to produce quality wines, some of which have excellent ageing potential.
Join us for a revelation. The wines proposed for this evening are a selection to represent some of the best wine producers, native grape varieties, and different terroirs. One of these has been described as “Truly one of the world’s greatest wines.” – come and see if you agree!”
Here are the wines to be tasted this evening:
The (Wine) Society’s Greek White 2023 (mainly Moschofilero, some Roditis)
The (Wine) Society’s Exhibition Santorini Assyrtiko 2021
Hatzidakis Skitali, Santorini 2021
