Join long standing London branch member and Bordeaux enthusiast Ed Gretton for an exciting evening exploring the elegant and powerful wines of the Saint-Julien commune, one of Bordeaux’s most refined appellations. Nestled on the Left Bank of the Gironde, Saint-Julien is famed for producing wines of exceptional balance — where structure meets subtlety, and depth is matched by finesse.
This tasting will feature a curated selection of both Cru Classés and Cru Bourgeois, showcasing the commune’s rich terroir and stylistic range. Highlights include standout examples from the highly acclaimed 2015 and 2018 vintages, offering members and guests the chance to compare two remarkable expressions of recent Bordeaux excellence. The centrepiece of the evening is a rare pour of the 2015 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, a Second Growth that epitomises Saint-Julien’s pedigree with its layered complexity, graceful tannins, and ageing potential.
This tasting promises an insightful journey through one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated appellations — in the heart of Pall Mall.
A cold buffet will be served, provided by the Club.
