WSET Advanced level 3

In Event Reports by ashepherdiwfs

Jeffrey Benson recently held and tutored a course for IWFS London Branch members leading to the Advanced Level 3 certificate award of the WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust).  This is an internationally recognised professional qualification, involving both a written examination and a blind tasting.   Those who participated found it most demanding; very much more so than Level 2, which we took last year; but both enjoyable and worthwhile.   Bernard Lamb is to be congratulated on achieving a distinction; Andrew Brodie, Janet Davies, Alan Shepherd, Rachel Burnett and Richard Jackson all passed with Merit.

Many thanks to Jeffrey for all the effort that he put in to organising all this and tutoring us.  We had to taste more than 75 wines, as well a mastering a thick book of theory covering all the major wines regions of the world.
