Following the excellent wine tasting dinners events at Le Vieux Comptoir in previous years, Laurent Faure has laid on another special evening for us, this time based upon wine from the Savoie.
We will commence with a glass of sparkling Cremant de Savoie.
Our starter will be: Chicken liver parfait with Eau de Vie de Poire, accompanied by two white wines from Domaine Jean Vullien in the Combe de Savoie – Roussette (Altesse) & Chignin Bergeron (Rousanne)
Our main course will be: Boeuf Bourguignon, accompanied by two red wines Pinot Noir & Mondeuse, both also from Domaine Jean Vullien.
And finally for dessert: Pear tart with Genepi cream (a local liqueur), accompanied by a late harvest Chignin Bergeron.
