Our old friend Jack Rubyn, from Marin County Branch, always includes a London Branch event on his annual trip to Europe.  Many of you will remember his superb 2014 dinner at L’Autre Pied.  This year, just days before his untimely death, Andrew had pursuaded mâitre d’ Mathieu Germond to offer the renowned Michelin Starred restaurant Pied à Terre exclusively to the IWFS for a special lunch, composed just for us, and including Jack’s superb wines from the Napa Valley.  Now, this event is being dedicated to Andrew’s memory, and Jack will be donating some mature vintages to mark his respect.

For the reception we will start off with:

NV Montreaux Brut Sparkling Wine – Monticello Vineyards with canapés

And then we will sit down to:

First Course with 2013 Hudson Carneros Chardonnay

1st Meat Dish with 1983 & 1985 Heitz Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

2nd Meat Dish with 1978 & 1982 BV “Georges De Latour” Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Cheese Course with 1974 & 1975 Robert Mondavi Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Dessert with 1988 Elysium “Black Muscat” – Quady Winery
(not from Napa but Jack could not resist it!)

Chef Andy will need to choose the menu for the best ingredients on the day, and you can expect a couple of minor intermediary dishes. We will send you the menu a day or so beforehand, so any changes you need will be made for you.  Of course there will be a brilliant vegetarian option – just let Peter know.

Please be aware that this event is likely to be heavily over-subscribed, and we are unlikely to have space for guests.  Early booking is advised.
