We are honoured to be able to offer an important tasting of the prize winning wines now being made in Turkey. Melisa Atay has very kindly agreed to tell us about them.
Melisa started her career in London in April 2014 by importing her family’s wines from the Aegean Region and is now also the ambassador for several more boutique wineries from Turkey. Sarah Abbot MW helped Melisa select tonight’s wines from her portfolio.
Whilst tasting these specially selected wines, Melisa will give us a briefing on Turkish wine history and the important wine making regions of Turkey.
The wines will be:-
Prodom Cabernet Franc – Syrah – Petit Verdot
Prodom Rose
Prodom Okuzgozu Kalecik Karasi
Barudi Syrah
Barudi Sauvignon, Chardonnay & Narince
Bugulubag Sultaniye
Bugulubag okuzgozu/bogazkere
Barbare elegane
Barbare GSM
Arcaida Gris
Arcaida Narince
You will be excited by the quality of these wines and the relative rarity in the UK will make you an expert! A light Turkish buffet will follow the tasting.
