A recent wine tasting with Avery’s of Bristol reminded me that there are many regions of Spain apart from Rioja that produce wine: in fact there are over 300.
Major Spanish wine regions obviously include the Rioja and Ribera del Duero, which are known for their Tempranillo production; Jumilla, known for its Monastrell production; Jerez de la Frontera, the home of the fortified wine Sherry; Rías Baixas in the northwest region of Galicia that is known for its white wines made from Albariño and Catalonia.
In this tasting we will showcase some of the regions of Spain along with some of the well known wines of Rioja.
Among the wines being tasted tonight are:
Cune White Rioja 2019
Pagos de Tahola Rosada
Conde de Cron Vino Tinto 2019
Castaño Ecologico Monastrell 2019
Don Solís Tempranillo 2019
Viña Altogrado 2020
Montecastro Reserva 2014
Viña del Perdon Navarra Reserva 2015
Amontillado Sherry
The Club will be providing bread and a cold buffet to accompany the tasting.
