Monisha is an award winning author, food historian and food writer and was awarded ‘Cookery Writer of the Year’ in 2003 by the Guild of Food Writers and her many books have been shortlisted for and won several prestigious international awards. She established her “Cooking with Monisha” cooking school in 2004.

Monisha has also created and taught her popular courses at the Ashburton Cookery School in Devon, The Bertinet Kitchen in Bath, Seasoned Cookery School, south Derbyshire and at Divertimenti in Knightsbridge. Training both amateur cooks and professional chefs.

We start the day meeting in the foyer of Hounslow West Tube station and visit a local Indian store to understand buying specialist Indian ingredients.

We will then take a short walk to the training kitchen to cook together a complete Indian meal creating sauces from scratch, Indian bread, vegetable side dishes and perfect rice. In the process we learn a great deal about the use of spices, the importance of balance and the delight of freshness in genuine Indian food.

The day ends with us eating the results of our days cooking, before heading back via a short work to the Tube station.
