A tasting of wines from Georgia, with matching food.Date/Time
Date(s) - Mon 9th Apr, 2018
Chris Davenport-Jones has recently purchased a case of Georgian Wines specially for the IWFS to be shown at this tasting, which will be conducted at his home.
The country has been making strides in improving its wines, which can now be found for sale in a few UK wine outlets. They are tending to make special wines from old grape varieties which have historical interest for their own population. Most of these will be unfamiliar, although some may of heard of Kvevri, THE specialist wine which is fermented in underground amphorae.
The wines will be chosen from:
Marani Tsinandali 2014
Marani Saperavi Rose 2016
Marani Mtsvane 2016
Satrapezo 10 Kvevri 2014
Marani Saperavi 2016
Marani Napareuli 2014
TAMADA Mukuzani 2014
TAMADA Tsinandali 2014
Marani Kondoli Vineyards Saperavi 2014
Albastrele Wines Feteasca Neagra 2015
TAMADA Napareuli 2014

So come and learn a bit about this interesting country and sample some Georgian-influenced food to accompany the wines.
