Roger Ellis is the Executor of Carole’s Will and he has suggested that, in her honour, we should conduct a tasting of some of her wines that were in her house when it was cleared a few months ago. (For those of you who don’t know, her long-term partner, David, is now sadly in a care home with advanced dementia.) Roger feels that this is what Carole would have wanted, for her wines to be enjoyed by other members of the Society that she cared so much about.
However, like Carole, these wines are also somewhat unpredictable. Until we open the bottle, we will not know how well these wines have stood the test of time. But there could well be some real gems in here – or maybe not! Committee member Rachel Burnett has kindly offered to lead the tasting – so come and join us on a journey of discovery and raise a glass, one more time, to a dear departed friend of the Society.
